Industrial Visit to ASOT SOLAR

Industrial Visit to ASOT Solar, Kim – Surat

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (Diploma) organized an industrial visit to ASOT Solar, located at Anita Village, Kim, Surat, on 10th October 2025. The visit was arranged for students from the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering departments. The tour was coordinated by Mr. Ketan R. Patel, Head of the Department (Electrical), and Mr. Kavaljit Kosamiya, Head of the Department (Mechanical).

Students were divided into three batches to ensure a smooth and interactive experience. The visit began with an introduction to ASOT Solar, one of India’s leading manufacturers of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and turnkey solar solutions. The company is known for producing a wide range of solar products, including monofacial and bifacial solar panels, designed for residential, commercial, and industrial use.

The guided tour covered three key areas:

A total of 35 students and 4 faculty members participated in the visit. It proved to be an excellent learning opportunity, offering insights into solar technology and manufacturing processes. Students also interacted with technical professionals who shared valuable industry knowledge and answered questions related to electrical and mechanical systems used in solar production.

Outcome of the Visit:

The visit gave students a closer look at ASOT Solar’s 600 MW state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, which employs N-Type TOPCon technology for high-efficiency solar modules. The plant produces modules rated between 535 W and 590 W, featuring 144 half-cut N-type cells, silver anodized aluminum frames, and AR-coated glass. The company plans to expand its capacity to 2.2 GW by 2025. Along with TOPCon modules, ASOT also manufactures Mono-PERC panels and delivers complete solar solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
